Charmian Beaton Design is an award winning Kent jeweller and a member of National Association for Jewellers. Charmian is a designer and maker who lived and studied in Scotland until moving to Kent, England in 2001 where she established Charmian Beaton Design, a contemporary jewellers Kents county town, Maidstone. The shop is a ‘treasure trove’ of spectacular handmade jewellery, not just creations by Kent jewellery designer Charmian, but also by around 40 other designer / makers, whose work Charmian personally sourced. These designers works are mostly handmade in Britain, but some are from Europe or further afield.
In 2018, Charmian took the bold step to move the business to Bramley Hall in Headcorn, Kent, between Maidstone and Ashford. Charmian Beaton Design has an onsite workshop where by appointment, customers are welcome to go behind the scenes and view experts at work at a traditional jewellery workbench. Charmian creates jewellery, which are ‘everyday’, beautifully bold and a statement about the wearer. Her work embodies her fun loving nature and fascination with metal texture and colour combinations. She loves patterns created by nature, asymmetry, diamonds and bright coloured gemstones. Her emotions flow into her design and originality is paramount in her work.
